almost 2 years ago – Thu, Mar 28, 2024 at 03:41:51 AM

Hey Yolks!

A very Hoppy Easter from all of us at Goblin King Games!

Oh, you're not here for egg-cruciatingly bad puns? You only want you 'ear about egg-citing Kickstarter developments? Well rest assured we've been cracking-on!

Play testing for all 8 new box sets is complete and stat cards are in the final stages of proof reading ready for printing next week! We will now turn our attention to testing stat cards for Broken Eathebex and the special card for Slim (Shady) as the new limited edition's cards will be printed separately.

600 each of Charge of the Fright Brigade and Freaky Fugday are assembled and just waiting on the stat cards so they can be sealed up.

Echo of the Forgotten King, Angerboda, Never Ending Knights and The Shady Bunch are in resin production. We have the packaging for these and stat cards should be on their way shortly so we have a lot of assembly to do over the next month on those sets...!

Eternal Servitude and Nanny sculpts have been finalised, test printed and are currently being high resolution printed.

Low resolution test prints of Eternal Servitude and Nanny box sets.

All of our existing product range items (enemy faction bundles and back catalogue box sets) that were available in the pledge manager or part of the Headstone and Mausoleum pledge levels have been produced, packed and set aside from our day-to-day stocks. The old limited edition miniatures available in the pledge manager have been delivered and are in the process of being assembled.

The limited edition Faction Coins have been delivered and The Forgotten King Scale Bust is in resin production.

Forgotten King scale bust, resin production sample.

All of the new limited edition miniatures are currently in the process of being sculpted.

Work in Progress Sculpts: Sen'Ara 'Depths of Despair' Edition, Eric the Exalted and 'Broken' Eathebex.

The Doomsday Report has been written and layout completed, and the next stage is creating all the unique art for the book.

As you can see we're frying our best to keep eggrything on track and all it's cracked up to be.

Anyway, these boxes aren't going to pack themselves – time to hop to it!

This is Drawpin Eaves reporting live from the Gimble clan's annual Eggstone Eggstravaganza; we’ve seen Mama Gimble’s impressive baps, and been entertained by Kavanaugh’s balls, but now it’s time for the highlight of the day- the Eggstone Cake Off! Gnomes from all over Tauber compete to create the best cake, with a mighty prize on the line for the victor. A surprise entry this year comes from Angerboda, a giant from the Norse Isles who appears to be suffering from a skin condition of some sort? Her ‘frozen feast’ Eggstone cake with a baked exterior and ice cream filling is a big hit with the judges, though she does insist on cutting it with an enormous axe…

Aren't they just adorable!

Hey Folks,

This just is a short and sweet progress update, but first a big thanks to (almost) everyone for completing your BackerKit pledge managers on time. We've used the information to confirm our order quantities and production is now in full swing!

Various sets are at different stages in the process, but as you can see, Charge of the Fright Brigade and Freaky Fugday are currently being assembled into cartons.

Echo of the Forgotten King is in resin production (along with our existing sets and previous limited editions needed for this Kickstarter fulfilment).

Never Ending Knights, The Shady Bunch and Angerboda have all been high resolution printed and will be the next sets to be moulded and cast.

The sculpts for the Nanny box set are complete and is next up for printing. In fact, let's take a moment to appreciate the phenomenal cuteness of the iddy-widdy Babelings in all their 3-dimensional glory!

Sculpted by Tom Lishman

Eternal Servitude and Eric the Exalted sculpts are also very close to being finalised so we expect to be showing those off in our next update.

Finally, the sculpt commissions of Limited Edition Sen'Ara, Slim and 'Broken Eathebex'  have all now been placed.

Play testing continues to run in parallel and we continue to feel that the rules for all of these new miniatures are in terrific shape, requiring only minor tuning from here!

---

When I was told I would be reporting from a nursery today, I expected it to be... cuter? These repulsive brats have done nothing but squeal, argue and slap each other since I arrived, and the Nanny has not been helpful at all! I suppose it shouldn't be a surprise that the monster responsible for King Chernitt's early years isn't exactly an exemplary caregiver.

On the other hand I'm still looking for a nursery for Slim to stop him tearing up the carpets while I'm at work, and the rates here really are fantastic, plus she is Psychopomp experienced, so perhaps I shouldn't be so quick to judge?

Only one week remaining to complete surveys
about 2 years ago – Wed, Jan 24, 2024 at 07:43:56 AM

Hey Folks!

First the naggy part, then we'll move on to progress updates. :)

The Pledge Manager closes one week today!

Almost 1 in 5 backers still haven't completed their pledge manager and the deadline is January 31st - one week from today. If you think this could be you, please complete it now. We can't ship your rewards if it is not completed (we don't know where you live for one thing!) and if the deadline is missed your pledge will be delivered later than everyone else's and exclusive limited edition add-ons will not be available. If you can't locate the email from BackerKit with your unique link to access the Pledge Manager then you can use the survey recovery page here or email us at [email protected] if you have any further issues. We are here to help! :)

We will charge cards for balance payments shortly after the deadline.

Ok, the naggy part is over and I bet you want to know what we've been up to?!

Progress!

Resin production is well underway for Freaky Fugday and Charge of the Fright Brigade sets. We expect to begin assembling the first 300 of each of those boxes next week. We have also taken delivery of a number of older Limited Editions which are already being packaged up.

All sculpts are now complete for the Angerboda, Echo of The Forgotten King, Never Ending Knights and Shady Bunch sets. Here's the latest three to be completed:

All of these sets have been test printed in low resolution to check scale and fit and we are expecting the high resolution prints for some of these sets to arrive any day now, along with the high res print of the Forgotten King 75mm Scale Bust.

Low resolution test prints!

The completion of the Sen'Ara, Marley and Serif sculpts also means we are able to order the packaging for their sets, using the renders for the back of boxes.

Sculpting has also begun for Nanny (and Babelings!), Viscount de Faulte, Igor the Servant, Eric the Exalted and Sen'Ara "Depths of Despair" Edition. We should have more renders to show off in our next update and leaves only 'Slim' and 'Broken Eathebex' sculpts to be commissioned.

The Doomsday Report has been written by resident writer V.G. Thorne and we are about to begin layout and commissioning of unique artwork. It contains some deeper aspects of the lore you wont find elsewhere and of course some very amusing anecdotes and tangents (this is Moonstone after all!). Can't wait to get it printed and into your hands.

Playtesting

Regular playtesting continues and we are actually in a very strong position. We're feeling confident that all characters are bringing something unique, are fun to play, and well balanced in terms of power. You can read some more detailed commentary in Lead Developer Joe Parson's latest post on our website.

We are now moving on to testing the 'future competitive meta' by pitting what we believe are the strongest Shades of Moonreach troupe builds against the builds from other factions that we see frequently on tournament top tables. We will also start to introduce characters from further into the future into the playtest sessions to see how they interact with these sets, as well as testing Shades specific Upgrade and Campaign Cards for a future expansion to our Campaign Deck. Mick has even run a Shades troupe through one complete Moonstone campaign already.

That's it for this update folks, we'll be back with more soon and once again, please do go and complete your pledge manager if you haven't already!

Drawpin Eaves here at the Brawdol post office as we cautiously await the deadline for the arrival of any more Undead wannabes. I could have made a pun there, but I didn't. That's called 'Journalistic integrity' that is. I've just returned from my guest judge spot on 'Moonreach's Next Top Model' and I have to say there are some lovely looking figures coming out of that decaying cesspit, which is quite a surprise. My visit was much improved by the news the king had 'gone out fer testing' which allowed me a quick in an out without any more of that captivity nonsense...

A Very Merry Grimblesnacht from Goblin King Games
about 2 years ago – Thu, Dec 21, 2023 at 07:55:30 AM

Hey folks!

The holiday season is well and truly upon us and the Goblin King Games crew are here to wish you a Very Merry Grimblesnacht*!

We're sure Ol' Grimble is readying his magical flying toad as we speak, laden with gifts to furnish your hearth and home. :)

Progress Updates

Several sculpts are being finalised at the moment by our talented pool of digital sculptors and we're delighted to show the completed sculpts for Angerboda and Sen'Ara (Standard Edition):

We can also report that Freaky Fugday and Charge of the Fright Brigade resin samples have been approved for full-scale production. The packaging for those sets has been delivered already and we're expecting to begin assembling stocks of those two sets towards the end of next month.

Please do complete your Pledge Manager survey!

In other news, a big thank you to everyone who has completed their pledge manager! 74% of you have now done so, but that means 26% still have not. The deadline for completion is 31st of January and it is essential that you do complete your survey by this date. No payment will be taken until after the deadline, but if you miss it your shipment will be delayed. And you will miss out on the opportunity to pick up previous limited editions... You have been warned! ;)

If you've lost your survey, you can retrieve it here: https://moonstone-shades.backerkit.com/

Please do reach out to us via [email protected] if you have any difficulties so we can help.

We'll update you all again after the festivities, but for now:

*What in Gary's good name is Grimblesnacht?

Hundreds of years ago Ol' Grimble was the name of a rich and eccentric goblin who lived alone in the wilds on Eclypse Isle. In mid-Musive people across Tauber celebrated Wintersfest, where the goblins would also acknowledge Juma-Coo, celebrate their ancestors, and rejoice at the end of the Friskal Year. Ol' Grimble was a particularly skilled gift-buyer and gift-giver, and over the years he began passing gifts to goblins across Eclypse Isle. He grew so skilled that he was able to employ magic to give gifts to goblins across the whole of Tauber and his legend was set into history. For goblins, Wintersfest gradually changed to Grimblesnacht and the tradition of gift-giving became entrenched with the festival.

Check your inbox - Pledge Manager incoming!
over 2 years ago – Fri, Dec 01, 2023 at 02:12:57 AM

Hey folks!

Earlier this week we sent a 'smoke test' of the Pledge Manager to a randomised 5% of backers. No issues were encountered and so we have now released the Pledge Manager to everyone else. Look out for an email from BackerKit in your inbox today!

It is very important that you complete the Pledge Manager (otherwise we won't know where to send your pledge and therefore, you won't get it ;) as soon as possible. However, rest assured that your card will not be charged for any balances for postage or add-ons until 1st February, at the earliest.

Getting help

If you need any help completing your survey then Backerkit has an excellent and highly responsive support team who can be reached from any page of the pledge manager by following the 'Need Help?' link at the top right of every page, or via email at [email protected].

If you didn't receive your BackerKit link, then please check the junk folder of the email address you use to login to Kickstarter, and then email us at [email protected].

Closing date

The Pledge Manager will be open until the 31st of January. After this date you will not be able to make any changes and your cards will be charged for the balance due on postage and any additional add-ons selected.

What if I move house?

Just before we begin shipping we will alert everyone so that you will have an opportunity to update your address if needed.

Late backing available (for a limited time!)

If you know a friend who missed out on the opportunity to back the Kickstarter, or there was an issue with your card payment causing Kickstarter to drop your pledge, then for a very limited time we can accept late pledges via the pledge manager. Late pledges can be made here. Late pledges will be fulfilled after pledges made on Kickstarter have all been sent so the fulfilment estimate for late pledges is June/July 2024.

Bob Bobbington here. Our usual Moonreach correspondent Drawpin Eaves, who was last seen enjoying one of Shabbaroon's Psilocybin Daiquiri's, is currently no-where to be found. Perhaps you'll find him staring wide eyed at the glistening treasures in this 'BackerKit'. Or perhaps he's upside down in a hedge somewhere.. Who can say?
