Moonstone Fantasy Skirmish Game - Shades of Moonreach

Created by Goblin King Games

Moonstone - the award winning, Whimsical Tabletop Skirmish Game, returns to Kickstarter with a brand new faction!

Latest Updates from Our Project:

A six figure game!
over 2 years ago – Sun, Oct 22, 2023 at 08:01:50 AM

A hullabaloo has been caused in the centre of Moonreach today, as a naked Tom Greenway has been seen dancing down the streets chanting "100k! 100k! 100k!" for the last 2 hours. The extremely benevolent and not-at-all tyrant-like King Chernitt has had to halt his bold city wide reconstruction plans to attempt to recapture this madman. In Tom’s absence we found one of his co-workers to run us through today's events.

---

Moonstone was designed as a '6 figure' game and now that's the case in more ways than one, as we hit a major milestone today. £100k in pledges is something we feel extremely proud of and deeply grateful for! :)

And of course, that means another unlock!

Projected price after Kickstarter £40-£45.

We've said it before, but the sculpting of this model is just... beyond amazing. It deserves to be appreciated in a larger scale and we can't think of a better way to commemorate this monster milestone!

---

What? Nobody around here makes any sense, except for old Slim here! Who’s a good 'pomp? Who’s a good 'pomp? Yes you are!

I’ve been told that Jerry Heir, the king's own pet madman, has been released in the hopes that it takes one capering fool to catch another... Stay tuned for more developments.

No time to sit on our Jerry-Heirs!
over 2 years ago – Fri, Oct 20, 2023 at 01:51:54 PM

"Drawpin Eaves here and once more I’m having to ask someone outside this basement for an update on the state of Moonreach. Unfortunately for all our sanity, it looks like Tom Greenway is the only one talking to me. If you don’t count Slim and that Mermaid anyway…”

---

We've had a heart-swelling uptake in new backers today, so if you're new around here, a warm welcome and huge thanks for your support!

This morning we promised some new stretch goals (since you rascals keep breaking them! Honestly, can't a game designer get a day off? ;) ), so without further ado, may we present:

We wanted something big for £100K, and this guy is as big as they come!

We already produce a 75mm scale Jayda, which has proved popular amongst scale model painters and collectors, and this seemed like the perfect model to expand on that range. As a Kickstarter add-on we've priced this bust at £36, but will be priced somewhere around £40-£45 afterwards (and you'd also be the first in the world to get him) since he is a chonky boi, and even his upper half will weigh in more than the full Jayda.

Secondly we wanted another stretch goal that could be free to everyone. While posters would be lovely, their impact on shipping rates would not be. So we've opted for a 21st century approach with a downloadable image pack of high resolution Moonstone art to adorn your screens, rather than your walls. This will include brand new art pieces not seen before (or painted yet) so you'll have to forgive us using prior art for illustrative purposes in the graphic.

---

Thanks Tom, all I heard was THE KING IS BACK AND HE'S BIGGER THAN EVER! Great news for everyone in Tauber that feels our current benevolent system of government has been too soft on them and a good razing every now and then really helps the village come together… Obviously not as good news if you or any of your immediate ancestors were of a Gnomish persuasion and notably good with explosives and mining equipment. Bob Bobbington has been visiting some of these descendants and.. .. what do you mean they don’t want to appear? What’re they afraid of? Ooooh… right.. silly me…

Mer-made to order!
over 2 years ago – Fri, Oct 20, 2023 at 02:51:30 AM

Hey folks,

Just a quick update to reveal the colour art for Sen'Ara, 'Depths of Despair' Edition, our Kickstarter Exclusive alternate sculpt miniature, voted for by backers earlier in the campaign.

'Well', we think she looks amazing! ;)

This incredible miniature will be made in high quality resin and supplied with a stat card and base. She is free to backers of Tomb and above, meaning she will automatically be added to your order in the pledge manager. If you've backed a lower level (or you just want another copy!) you can now find her in the add-on's menu that follows the pledge level screen; or you can increase you 'Bonus support' by £14; or alternatively pick her up in the pledge manager.

We're in the process of working out the details of our next stretch goals so please bear with us and we will update you again on this shortly!

---

Tom certainly made this all sound like good news, but I can tell you from ongoing experience sharing a damp basement with an actual undead mermaid it's not without its downsides. Partly because she is a bit whiffy, she walks in weird ways and her gnomish is awful, but mostly it’s that hungry look she gets in her eyes when she thinks I’m not lookin'...

'Digging deeper' into the lore
over 2 years ago – Thu, Oct 19, 2023 at 12:26:55 PM

Hey folks,

I'm delighted to say we've cracked another stretch goal!

With this stretch goal comes additional narrative content for The Doomsday Report. We will increase the page count by +4 and V.G. Thorne will write an additional section, with accompanying illustrations. This is a free upgrade to The Doomsday Report (which is a free add-on for Tomb pledges and above, or separate add-on for any pledge priced at £9).

Just like our previous narrative supplement The Treasures and Tyrants of Tauber, this limited edition booklet will be written as an 'in-world' document (by Tabby the Librarian) and sheds some light on the new horrors rising from Moonreach. Covering such topics as 'what are the Deadlands', 'what do we know about Chernitt already' and 'by Leshavit's nipples, what are Psychopomps?'. The text, and many of the illustrations, will be unique to this booklet, making it a true collector's piece.

So, what more would you like to read about? Here's a few suggestions:

  • The mysteries of merfolk - what’s known about this elusive sea-dwelling race

  • All about Eric (up to the end of The Arising)

  • The rise, fall and arise of the de Faulte family - The Duchess, Viscount de Faulte and other important family members

  • Tauber reacts - how different races and the three factions feel / have reacted to Shades

  • Divine responses - an overview of the gods of Tauber and their relationship with Shades

Let us know in the comments!

Now, this is what we need! Someone who actually knows what is going on! I've had enough of Mr Greenway's gibberish, and I'm sure you have too. Tabitha has read more books than I've had hot teacakes so this is sure to be full of valuable info.

From the basement. Still.

You folks are the Eathebest!

Drawpin Eaves, for the Brawdol Gazette (who I’m going to assume are waiting to send a rescue party until after whatever happens here has finished...?) - Not a lot to see here through the basement window but Tom has been stopping by to pass me the odd mouldy teacake and tidbit of information. Here we have his typically nonsensical take on the Eathebex reanimation that has seized the headlines of late:

---

We're super excited to have unlocked yet another stretch goal!

To get this Limited Edition miniature, increase your pledge by £15 or choose her from the 'add ons' in your pledge.

As mentioned previously, this miniature has the purple 'Elrich' faction symbol, meaning she can be played alongside any of our four main factions outside of sanctioned tournaments. However she will take up two of your character slots. "But I'll be down a character!" you say, surely that's not fair? Well fear not – we're planning to make Eathebex an absolute monster!

Here's a very early stage stat card concept, just to give an idea:

Note that any stat cards used for illustrative purposes are very much 'subject to change' as play testing is still on-going.

But what's better than one super powerful wizard miniature? Two of course! Because an Epic Wizard Duel would be too good to pass up on, we've added our previous Limited Edition Elrich miniatures 'Voth & Homunculus' as an add-on option too, priced at £21.

Similar to Eathebex, to field this dangerous duo it will set you back three of your regular character slots for the two models.

---

Once more I wonder if relying on a half-witted supposed ‘creator’ for reliable information isn’t somewhat foolish, but as he’s promised to pop back with a nice cuppa this evening I’m willing to take him at face value for now. Let’s just hope that Tabitha whats-er-face isn’t taking advantage of my absence to write even more of her dogmatic prose for the Gazette’s feature magazine.
